WHO ARE WE?

The Jajabara is a collective of handicrafts and handloom enthusiasts with the vision of bridging the gap between the craft and connoisseurs of craft.

Since art and craftsmanship are invaluable intellectual and proprietary assets, we strive to make them more accessible to the common public with a unique and ethical model of social entrepreneurship which benefits not just the craftsmen and women but their next of kin by preserving and promoting the dying yet immensely rich terrain of regional art and crafts.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We source authentic regional crafts directly from artisans from all over India including dokra jewelry, accessories, pattachitra paintings, filigree, applique, and many more.

OUR VISION

The Jajabara, a name derived from the titular Odia hit song of the 70s, which roughly translates to ‘the one who wanders’, has a similar vision when it comes to our art and crafts. Our collective vision is to make the regional arts and crafts more accessible to the common public and shine a much-deserved light on the generational craftsmen and women, and the byproduct of their deliberate and seasoned craftsmanship. In our catalogues, you will travel through the bumpy roads of the most remote villages, dip your toes in the cool waters of mangroves and witness delicate sunsets, all whilst being seated behind your screen, that is, until you order from us.
